If not for Marc Gasol's size advantage, he wouldn't have anything.But he DOES have a size advantage, so that does contribute to deciding who the better center is. If Shaq was skinny and lanky, do you think he would be just as effective? I'll take Marc in this comparison. Both are very talented players, but Marc has more of the natural gifts to make him a better center.
