MainEv3nt
The Dallas Mavericks and New Jersey Nets have reached a verbal agreement on a trade that will send reserve forward Kris Humphries to the Nets and bring forward Eduardo Najera back to Dallas after the Mavericks acquired him in the 2000 draft. NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com on Friday night that the Nets have also agreed to use a trade exception to absorb the $2.4 million expiring contract of exiled Mavs swingman Shawn Williams to complete the deal. Sources said the deal might not be finalized before the league office reopens Monday. The Nets will waive Williams as soon as they get him and must also another release another player -- little-used Sean Williams is considered a prime candidate -- to create the required roster space to make the trade. xx.
Great trade for the Nets. Wooo Kris Humphries is actually a good player, Najera is not AND we get Shawne Williams but cut Sean Williams, lol ironic. We never used Sean right anyway, he'll get signed somewhere else. Shawne on the other hand is a very talented player as well coming out college his freshmen year but never given the right opportunity yet. Newman
Not sure the point of getting Humphries when Sean Williams is just as, maybe even more, talented than him. I guess the Nets are just throwing little trades in the hope that the new players will be able to support the starting 5 of the team, who I think have potential to be a brilliant starting 5 in the future.
