JWaLL
The PS3 version was recently patched and the 360 version will get the patch later this week. However... On the 2k boards, people are absolutely furious with 2k. The patch has apparently ruined the game in so many ways there isn't enough room here to list all of the problems. While it did fix the extremely minor issues like the ref holding the ball for too long before you shoot a free throw, as well as minor gameplay bugs, it has added MANY freezing glitches and such. Some people can't even play the game after the patch because it freezes at the main menu. Also, all big men have become shooting guards seemingly and now shoot 2-5 three pointers per game, EVEN if you simulate a game in season/association mode. My Player mode has not been fixed at all, and your game will still crash/freeze/get deleted if you get to a certain point in the playoffs. When you pass to players on the corners, almost 80% of the time their foot is stepping on the line and they get called for out of bounds. The turnover stat will be going up significantly for everyone due partially to this. If you somehow make it passed the main menu and go to online mode, "retrieving crews" will load forever for most users, so you can't play. Substitutions occasionally freeze the game as well, causing you to restart your console. In season mode, random players' names will change out of no where. (ex: Etan Thomas to Etan Lopez... wtf?) Finding a game online is EXTREMELY difficult, and good luck playing with a friend, because that won't happen. These are just a few issues, there are many more according to the PS3 users on the 2k forums. 2k fails again.
bigdog17k
I've only had a few issues with mine, sometimes that frame rates will mess up briefly during a game. And the intentional foul doesn't work in Association, it just strips the ball.
Newman
I got the PC version and we still haven't got a patch yet. It really blows when you hold a 4-point lead till the end then the comp intentionally foul you (but no call), nail a 3 and then a jumper to win the game. I am not sure about 360 or PS3 version, but the PC version is pretty glitched up without the patch so I can't imagine how bad it will be if the patch stuff it up even further. Yeah, that's what it does then your team just drops the ball instead of going to the line. I just do it right back to them.

JWaLL
i cant play online games. xbox just freezes up The patch isn't even out for the Xbox yet. If you're having problems now then it's going to be way worse once the patch comes out. This patch completely murdered the game.
kingfish
LMAO this game is so broken in every way. Sad that 2k can never really get their [expletive] together.
Poe
LMAO this game is so broken in every way. Sad that 2k can never really get their [expletive] together.I hear you. It freaking sucks. It would have been such a good game.. if it was actually a finished product on release date, or at least four months later.
JWaLL
I'm not big on playing online with sports games, so if the patch actually improves help defense and defensive awareness (just defense overall actually...) then I'll be happy enough. I do fantasy draft Association mode only, but I've pretty much had it with the giant lanes that are constantly open for people to drive in on me. I gave Live a try, and it isn't that bad. It's unrealistic as hell but it's really fun.
Poe
Defense is the biggest thing for me too, though it did improve a bit with the first patch. Biggest thing for offline play for me is the My Player mode. It's automatically on freaking All Star difficulty and I don't have the option to change it. By the time you have a 60 rating, you can already go for 50 points on like 80% shooting without even trying. Bigs don't hedge on screens, lanes are too [expletive]ing wide open, and man defense is almost completely non-existent. It would feel a heck of a lot more realistic and challenging if I could change the damn difficulty. Edited January 16, 2010 by Poe

If you go to a new team, your player gets cloned and remains on the original team as well. Also, the stats are unrealistic at 5 minutes, and if you make them any longer the scores end up being huge like 160-148 or something. 2k10 is just a big fail. Still, game should have been completed by release date. And, yea, substitutions are still a mess. Again about the defense, I just played 2K and got 55 points with my 70 rated SG in 7 minute quarters (cause my player plays the whole freaking time I have to make the quarters short) and 23-30 shooting, getting open looks from everywhere with no adjustments from the defense (most probably due to difficulty setting). I don't call for the ball at all, either. I made it so that the PG runs plays automatically, so I have to be in specific places on the floor. I play the game realistically, or at least I try to. After a couple open shots, Deron just kept feeding me the ball. The defense didn't adjust, so I just kept attacking and attacking. This is basically on a gamely basis. I normally tone down my shooting to try to make my averages realistic, even though I average 60% shooting. It's way too damn easy. Simply put, you should at least be an 90 rated player to be able to put up 50 points in such good shooting numbers, and even then it should be at least a minor challenge. Now, I understand that this game isn't as easy when your first starting out or whatever, so that's why the difficulty should be at least adjustable.
