The Regime
NEW YORK -- Marvin Lewis had much more than game plans to deal with this season. Lewis won The Associated Press 2009 NFL Coach of the Year award for guiding his team to the playoffs during a season marked by tragedy. The Cincinnati Bengals won the AFC North with a 10-6 record, just their second division title since 1990, both under Lewis. They did so despite the deaths of wide receiver Chris Henry and Vikki Zimmer, the wife of defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. Several players' families also were directly affected by the tsunami in the Samoan Islands. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4831442
bigdog17k
Wow, I'm surprised. I thought for sure they would give this to Sean Payton. They never like to give anything to the Bengals.
JYD
Personally I think he's a terrible coach. Seems too soft. His team fell apart at the end of the year.
The Regime
I personally liked Rex Ryan, but I have no complaints with Marvin Lewis he deserves it. It's hard enough going from a 4-11-1 record to a 10-6 record, but it's even harder doing that in the AFC North. Smitty
Surprised they didn't give it to Caldwell or Payton.
BasX
Marvin and his team seemed drained near the end of the year because of the losses they had, especially in Chris Henry.
B-Marsh>R-Moss
Payton should have got it, but I guess the media forgot they were 13-0 at one point.
Flash
No guy did more with less than Marvin did this year. It was pretty remarkable to be quite honest.
