Lkr Posted January 20, 2010 Report Share Posted January 20, 2010 Mike Greenberg, the SportsCenter anchor and co-host of Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio, is embroiled in controversy after referring to Martin Luther King, Jr. as "Martin Luther Coon" on his radio show this morning. It is difficult to be sure from the below clip, but it sounds like Greenberg jumbled the words "King" and "Junior," leading to the unfortunate slur. Greenberg issued the following statement this evening: I just came home from the Knicks game and found out about the mess that was created by my garbling a sentence on our show this morning; I apologize for not addressing it sooner.
