The Regime
Ron Artest will receive the defensive assignments of LeBron James and Paul Pierce on the Lakers' eight-game road trip. Artest was asked if he thinks of guarding those players as a challenge. “Not really, because I had those assignments since I was first in the NBA,” he said. “That’s a normal day of work. It’s nothing new, nothing new to get excited about. I get excited for everything. “Me and Paul, we’ve had tons of battles over there in the East when I was on Indiana [Pacers] -- even me and LeBron when I was on Indiana. When I left for the West Coast, I kind of think both of those guys were kind of happy to see me go.” http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64158/20100120/artest_ready_for_lebron_pierce_defensive_assignments/

Cleveland's Finest
Artest wasn't that good defending LeBron Christmas Day, so I don't know why he's out promoting himself.
Built Ford Tough
Yeah LeBron and Pierce are tough assignments, but we all know that the real challenge he will face is when he is forced to guard Hedo "Turkish MJ" Turkoglu on Sunday. That is where we will really see his true worth defensively. Edited January 21, 2010 by Built Ford Tough
Owner Real Deal Posted January 22, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted January 22, 2010 Good job sucking, Ron. Kobe should've defended him, like he did both times last season. Ron is in way over his head. Houston played excellent zone defense against LeBron. It was never just Artest. Figures, though. Maybe Artest needs to go back to watching Shane Battier and the way he puts a hand in his assignments' faces and does what he can to stay in front of them, instead of flying past their shooting arm or gambling for a steal.
