Legacy
BOSTON — The trading deadline is less than a month away, and rumors seem to grow like algae. This is especially true when it comes to players with expiring contracts such as Boston's Ray Allen. While the Celtics have maintained repeatedly that they have no intentions of moving any of their core guys between now and the Feb. 18 trading deadline -- and I believe 'em on this one -- multiple league sources confirmed today that the Golden State Warriors are giving some thought to putting together a trade package that would involve Monta Ellis going to Boston in exchange for Allen.Source
bigdog17k
Ellis is good. Allen is old. I'm assuming if this happens the Warriors are just looking for space. Cause I wouldn't trade a guy like Ellis for Allen at this point.
JWaLL
Do it Warriors, you guys need to rebuild like us and this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Celtics3420
Don't know ho i feel about this. On one hand,we get a young stud for an Aging Allen, on the other hand, i don't know if he fits this system. Ray's role on this team is to pop off screens and shoot the J while Monta is more about creating his own shot. Trading a core player at a time like this could stir up some chemistry problems. Mainly from KG/Pierce, who don't want Allen to go in any way shape or form. It also raises the question of whether or not Rondo/Ellis can co-exist. They both need the ball in their hands to produce, so iunno. Basically, if Boston does it, they are basically saying they think they can't win it all this year and are looking at the future already, because trading a core player like Allen for Ellis in spite of KG/Pierce would/could be troublsome. As a fan, as i stated earlier, i'm 50/50 on this. Taking advantage of grabbing a stud to put alongside Rondo with Ray's contract would be huge. On the other hand, i think that window for a title is still very open for this year granted we're 100% healthy come playoff time, and i'd much rather see a ring than bolster for the future with the mind set that we aren't going to win, when that isn't the case(the potential to win it all, not the guarantee). We've gone through plenty of years of seeing this team be mediocre, so a few years of rebuilding won't hurt as much if we won another championship. Whatever happens, im all for it i guess. Legacy
I see this trade as hurting both teams. I hope it doesn't go down.
Sky
Thompson shot this rumor down today, cited team sources who emphatically denied that Monta was floated in any trade talks. imo the Warriors are trying to land Boozer.
