The Boston Celtics have reached an agreement with Rasheed Wallace, according to a source.

Wallace is expected to get a two-year deal using the mid-level exception (expected to be about $5.6 million to $5.8 million).

Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce, owner Wyc Grousbeck, coach Doc Rivers, and president Danny Ainge met with Wallace last week. Wallace turned down overtures from Orlando and San Antonio to commit to Boston.

Boston's chemistry will die now.

Sheed will probably start. I love this because now it adds so much more to the Cavs/Celts rivalry. I'm all for competition. But each team will probably win both games at home this year. Still an even better rivalry now.

I don't think the chemistry will be affected too much. Sheed and Garnett are good friends, and he gets along with most of the core of the team. I think he'll be a good fit, as long as he starts at center.

Gtfo clevelands finest...... stop being stupid ppl thought Marbury would kill this team and he didnt. No 1 player can kill this teams chemistry stop being idiotic. And Sheed will not start over Perkins.

Well, Allen Iverson might be the one guy who could do that.

I thought this was the perfect scenario for Sheed. A veteran, no-nonsense squad whose main goal is winning a title. Plus, this team feels like they have a lot to prove now that Cleveland is getting all the media love.

You bring Sheed in off the bench but he and Perkins will most likely play equal minutes. This is a type of situation that brings out the best in Rasheed as well. I've always thought he was one of the best big men in the league when motivated.

If Boston stays healthy this year I think they win it all. This could be their last chance.

Is this serious?

Just think of him as an upgraded version of PJ Brown, who was a HUGE factor during the 2008 playoffs. Sheed can shoot the three, play heavy minutes when Perk gets into foul trouble, play defense inside, take the pressure off of KG with him still healing from his injury, and of course, give you that clutch performance every now and then.

The only thing I dislike right now if the fact that the Celtics didn't resign Leon and Glen yet, it seems like the requirement age in order to join the Celtics is above 30 years old. They need to get younger and surround Rajon with some decent potential.

Sheed will be their 6th man imo... they can't replace Perkins' defense...

I don't think this signing is enough, they still need a wing scorer off the bench.

there are reports of us targeting Grant Hill as well, hopefully we get him.

This could only better the chemistry IMO.

Sheed is a great team player and gets people fired up.

I like this move.
