The west is very tight and the Jazz have been winning and the teams ahead of them losing. it also helps that the Jazz beat the Spurs, Suns and Blazers. The Jazz are distancing themselves somewhat from the 6-9 seeds, which is good. Now the Jazz just need to keep winning, the 3 spot could be theirs in a week and a half.
