Warren2ThaG
http://a.espncdn.com/i/headshots/nba/players/65/1727.jpg----------Stoudemire could be headed to San AntonioThere have been rumors these past few days of the Phoenix Suns sending forward Amar'e Stoudemire(notes) off to the Chicago Bulls, New Jersey Nets, or Miami Heat. But now it appears that the San Antonio Spurs have a pretty good chance of landing him and are planning to give it a shot, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. Wojnarowski has it that the Spurs have had numerous in-house conversations about trading for Stoudemire (things like "Would we give up Manu Girobili?"). Any way you slice it, the Spurs are interested in seeing if a deal can somehow be done, particularly after losing five of its last six games and falling into sixth place in the Western Conference. "They know they've got to do something," a source that understands what's shaking in the Spurs' front office told Wojnarowski. "They feel like they've got to at least look at this ... and they are." Meanwhile, Pat Riley and the Heat may just wait till Stoudemire is a free agent this summer and try to snag him as well as re-sign Dwyane Wade.---http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-stoudemirespurs012610&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
crabbylion
What a shame. What happened to Amare becoming the next great big man?
Owner Real Deal Posted January 27, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 Amare isn't going to fit in with the Spurs. He needs a point guard like Nash or Paul, simple as that. His forte is rolling to the rim off screens and throwing it down over the mismatch, and that's why everyone was high on him for so long in Phoenix. He may fit in with Miami nicely, though...but he should probably look at what happened with Shawn Marion, who fit the Nash/Suns system perfectly. bigdog17k
I keep hearing he's going someplace different every day. So I'm not speculating anymore, if it happens it happens. If he goes to Cleveland or Miami it's gonna sting a lil.
JWaLL
There's way too many "rumored teams" that are showing interest in him, where I just consider this another bland and probably false rumor. I have a feeling Stoudemire won't be going anywhere. Edited January 27, 2010 by Bulletproof
