JWaLL
Zach Randolph will be named an All-Star reserve for the Western Conference, according to sources with knowledge of the voting. An official announcement will come tonight during a nationally televised NBA broadcast on TNT. League coaches were required to turn in their votes for reserves Tuesday afternoon. They could not vote for their own players. Randolph, a nine-year veteran, will make his first All-Star appearance during the Feb. 14 game in Dallas. He entered Wednesday night’s game at Detroit as the only Western Conference player averaging at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Grizzlies’ power forward is averaging nearly 21 points and a career-high 11.5 rebounds. Randolph earned enough votes to become one of the seven reserves after not appearing on the all-star ballot. He ranks fourth in scoring, first in rebounding and second in double-doubles (28) among the 24 players selected to appear on the fan ballot. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2010/jan/27/sources-grizzlies-zach-randolph-all-star/ ------ Good for him, the man has really stepped his game up and has not played like the ball stopper he has usually been throughout his career. Owner Real Deal Posted January 28, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted January 28, 2010 I wouldn't never, ever guessed he'd be an all-star if you asked me this in November. Good choice, and well deserved.
La Bomba
Very well deserved. He's the reason for our success and he's completely resurrected his career here. He said he was ready for a new chapter in his life and he has done that and more.
Force
I'm happy for him...dude's always been a good player, but known as lazy, and a cancer. This year, dudes completely shreaded those assumptions into pieces playing great for Memphis and giving em some success.
KurbyFX
Amazing what the Grizzlies as a whole have done with a "mediocre" point guard. Especially in terms of distributing shots when you have Mayo, Gay and Randolph who in my mind, are all shoot-first type players. Not to mention Marc Gasol has been beasting alongside Z-Bo as well. BeeZee
Awesome to see. I used to make a lot of jokes about Randolph but he's shown that when he puts his mind to it, he's one of the better players in the league. Very well deserved.
