Built Ford Tough
New Orleans All-Star point guard Chris Paul(notes) will undergo arthroscopic surgery for a cartilage tear in his left knee on Monday and could miss one to two months, sources close to Paul told Yahoo! Sports on Sunday night. Paul injured the knee in the final moments of regulation in a loss to the Chicago Bulls on Friday. Test results revealed a partial tear to Paul’s meniscus. There is still some doubt as to the extent of the injury, one source said, but it is not believed to be season-ending. Paul is expected to miss the All-Star Game because of the injury. Once the NBA confirms Paul’s unavailability, commissioner David Stern will appoint an alternate player to the Western Conference roster http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AhI1KNE6aL6Hdcw8feHa1UC8vLYF?slug=ys-paulsurgery013110&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Terrible news for the Hornets. They were really starting to play well but this injury is definitely going to have a huge impact on their season. Hopefully guys like Collison and Thornton can step up big time in Paul's abscence. They played well earlier in the year when he was injured. Edited February 1, 2010 by Built Ford Tough
Warren2ThaG
I like Marcus Thornton a lot, very underrated. Haven't seen much of Collison.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 1, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted February 1, 2010 Who's replacing CP3 in the all-star game?
Cleveland's Finest
Collison has been amazing this year at certain times.....this may be his chance for Rookie of the Year award chasing if he can get them in the playoffs.
The Regime
Who's replacing CP3 in the all-star game? Monte seems like the best option, I hope he gets in.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 1, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted February 1, 2010 Yeah, Monta would be a good choice, but not a single all-star this season is on a losing team. My money would be on Billups making it in.
Sun Tzu
Hopefully this is time for Collison to shine and prove his worth.
Built Ford Tough
Who's replacing CP3 in the all-star game? My guess would be either Tony Parker or Chauncey Billups. Billups will probably get the nod as the Nuggest are in 2nd place in the West with a fairly decent lead over the Spurs. I'm not sure who has the better numbers anyways, and I am too lazy to look it up right now. I think that Billups is a pretty safe bet at this point though. Ellis won't make it. The coaches didn't select one All-Star from a losing team and with players like Billups and Parker as potential replacements, I highly doubt that they will break that trend now. Ellis has the numbers that certainly deserve it though, but the same could be said of Kevin Durant last year, who missed out because of team record. For injury, do they consider the position they were picked? Cause Deron got in as the "G" and CP3 was selected as back-up PG. Could be Billups or Ellis, I have no problem with either. I'd prefer Ellis, though.
BeeZee
Tough break for the Hornets. In the craziness that is the Western Conference playoff race, I think it's safe to say that the Hornets won't be getting in. I'm excited to see what Darren Collison can do, though, in extended minutes.
Dr. Feelgood
Too bad for the Hornets. Billups will replace him, Stern loves Billups.

Art
Man CP3 has been injured a lot this year. Maybe some rest will do him some good. Edited February 2, 2010 by Ya Dig!
Newman
Lucky for Hornets' fans, Collison is no scrub. Otherwise the Hornets would be an absolute disaster right now.
