Owner Real Deal Posted February 1, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted February 1, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhAzyr0K1S4&feature=player_embedded TIP OFF This was the get-under-your-skin enforcer they had heard about but until now had only been seen in old highlights. Artest didn't even wait until the game started to get under the Celtics' skin. Before the opening tip he was jostling for position with Paul Pierce, and the two had to be separated by an official. "I was in my position and he tried to put his leg over my position," Artest said. "If you're not strong enough, you shouldn't be fighting with me. If you can't match my strength then why would you try to pick a fight and test me? I was on the white line and you cannot cross my line and I'm so stubborn you know I'm not going to let you get away with that." ON KG "I didn't knock KG down," said Artest, shaking his head. "I can't knock him down." As Artest tried to defend himself he called for someone to bring him a roster of both teams so he could compare his listed height and weight (6-foot-7, 260 pounds) with Garnett's (6-11, 253). After being reminded that he was physically capable of knocking Garnett down and in fact did, he stopped arguing the point. "I didn't hit him; I just stood there," said Artest, who was called for two fouls four minutes into the game before being replaced. "That's what I like to do. I like to stand there. I sometimes do that against Shaq, which isn't smart. It's not just me. When they were testing Pau, he handled his own and handled himself."Read more... And here's something I found funny... KOBES TAKE Bryant looked at Artest in the locker room and recounted the start of the game, when the Lakers and Celtics were already jostling and trash-talking in the jump circle before tipoff. Artest got the ball in the post on the first play and was fouled hard by Boston's Paul Pierce — at which point Artest struck the sort of wide-eyed, menacing pose very few non-institutionalized people can. He stared and seemingly braced himself to fight. Bryant told Artest he noticed the Celtics' reaction at that precise moment: "They didn't want any part of this crazy (expletive). I'm telling you. I saw it."Read more... Ron is the man.
TheNextBestThing
I would trade anybody except Nash and Stoudemire for him. Seriously. I wonder if God made a mistake letting one man be so huge, violent, and psychopathic.
YugoRocketsFan
Its in Artest's blood, he is just a crazy guy, grew up that way.

BeeZee
I love it. He never once backed down from anybody on the Celtics yesterday, and that's exactly what we needed to see. Nobody backed down from them. They were trying to play their little mind games and it just never worked.
TheNextBestThing
Hmm... Knowing that Amare may leave, you wouldn't trade him for Artest? Correct. Amare leaving for nothing would be disastrous, for sure. But the potential rewards of him staying are large enough to make it worth the risk. It's like paying $5 to play a slot game that gives you a 30% chance of winning $100. Even if you'll probably lose, it's still smart to play. Kobe24
Yeah we need this guy in the playoffs. Thats why we brought him in. I also loved seeing Gasol stand up to Rasheed. That was pretty sweet.
