Smith: Magic Won't Do Sign-And-Trade With Raptors For Hedo

Magic general manager Otis Smith says that he will not take part in a sign-and-trade with the Raptors for forward Hedo Turkoglu.

 

Turkoglu agreed to sign with the Raptors after jilting the Trail Blazers.

 

Toronto can sign Turkoglu beginning on Wednesday, but may wait as they look to trade players like Shawn Marion, Anthony Parker and Carlos Delfino instead of renouncing their rights.

 

Smith told the Orlando Sentinel late Friday that the team would not be involved in a sign-and-trade in order to receive compensation for Turkoglu.
