ChosenOne
We are discussing this in class, and a good discussion came up. Should the government be able to track you via money tranactions, phone taps, cameras ect. If you think about it yeah they are taking away from your privacy but they also are helping you in the manner of security. Right now if you go to walmart and buy say a 12 pack of lighters and then the next week but a fuel container they send you and email/ letter in the mail telling you that you have been red flagged, and that you are being traced by government officals for security reasons. IF you have nothing to hide then why not allow this to happen for your security and allow the governemt to find so called terrorists? What is your side on this? Lkr
I don't agree with this. What if I am talking about something embarrassing on the phone? Someone in Washington could be monitoring it and laughing their [expletive] off
KurbyFX
Ethically, it's just wrong. You never know if they even catching these "bad" people... or at least I haven't heard of any "busts".
fly3rs18
i absolutely disagree. yes i want security, but it can get too far. this is a free country, and things like this start to take away from that. sure just this isnt too bad, but it could only lead to worse i agree with the patriot act (i think thats what its called), that if the govt has a legitimate reason to think someone may have something to do with terrorism or anything like that then they can tap thier phone and more. that is alright, but i am against monitoring the regular person
reno
How many crimes have the worlds government committed the past few thousand years? How many people have died due to governments misuses? If the government was honestly trying to stop terrorism or w/e crime bs, they would start by having secure borders. bigdog17k
I disagree. They already are into peoples business way to much. It's not a matter of security, it's becoming a matter of control. I'm sure it started out with good intentions, but like everything else it becomes corrupt. And to add even money tracking, surveillance, and phone taps you gotta be nuts. Might as well let him control the internet too then.
Kobe24
Chosen, I highly recommend you read a book called 1984 by George Orwell. It might change your view on this a little bit

YugoRocketsFan
No this would be freaking stupid. This is why I want Ron Paul elected, one of the bigger thing he supports is getting the government out of people's life as much as possible. They're already watching/tracking emails...
