Iverson Still Wants To Be A Starter

Recommended Posts

Allen Iverson could be asked to come off the bench by a potential suitor, but he doesn't appear willing to do so.

Iverson, an unrestricted free agent and former MVP, hasn't been mentioned very often in rumors.

He told the Detroit Free Press that he was letting agent Leon Rose field all the inquiries.

When asked by the Free Press what he would do if his new team asked him to come off the bench, Iverson hesitated.

"I don't know. I think I would retire," the guard said.

I think he is going to have to accept a role on the bench and if he doesn't he may call it quits.

All great players eventually have a decline, why can't Iverson accept that? Coming off the bench as a sixth man isn't the end of the world. He'd still be making millions. Is he really that selfish? I think he's attempting to sound honorable when really he's just sounding like a stubborn kid who can't get what he wants.
