MainEv3nt
The Houston Rockets are in the discussion stages of a complicated, three-team trade that would send Tracy McGrady to the New York Knicks, sources told Yahoo! Sports. The centerpieces of the trade would include the Washington Wizards shipping forward Caron Butler and center Brendan Haywood to the Rockets. The Knicks would send the expiring contract of Al Harrington to the Wizards. In order for the deal to work, additional pieces would have to be added. http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64591/20100210/rockets_knicks_wizards_discussing_three_way_deal/
ChosenOne
At this point just shipping Tracy is all I care about. I would like to see him in NY because that would give him alot of freedon to let his shots rip.
Dash
The Mavericks have countered Houston's offer for Butler and Haywood. Link ITEM: As the Wizards listen to Houston’s McGrady thoughts (and work on a complicated three-way involving the Knicks), the Mavs will remind the Wiz that Dallas can make offers that: 1. Actually include some usable talent on the floor. (A minor issue.) 2. Provide as much as $10 million is spending room next summer. (An obvious major issue.) 3. Gets the Wizards to be tax-free THIS year. (A Mavs-hoped major issue.) An example of such a deal: Josh Howard and JJ Barea for Butler and Haywood and Trade Exception junk. Owner Real Deal Posted February 10, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted February 10, 2010 Damn man, KEEP THAT STUFF OUT OF THE WEST. I would rather not see Dallas or Houston get better. Butler and Haywood on either of those teams would make them a tough play in the West. Stupid Wizards.

Ok so the Wizards trade their two best players one being an expiring so they can take on some awful contracts from New York, lets do it!! How about then they trade their first round pick for Louis Amundson to make it even sweeter. In trading Butler and Haywood they are looking for both salary relief and young talent. All they are getting here is bad contracts. I'm actually struggling to put together a package that works for Washington when I look into it further. David Lee probably won't consent to a trade to the Wizards. Either Harrington or Hughes would have to be the centerpiece, but I can't much to entice Washington outside of players New York won't give up. Same, I've been messing with the ESPN trade machine for a while now and I can't piece together a decent trade. I could see David Lee possibly agreeing to the trade but it is unlikely. If it is true that New York won't be resigning Lee in the offseason then it might be best if his bird rights be traded to a team that will be resigning him. Houston could add Chase Budinger to the deal.

Expiring or not that is an awful trade for us. The Mavs can help us out much more in the long run, I really hope we make a deal with them. Bringing in Barea would be nice. Dash
^I agree, the Mavericks probably do make the better trading partner for the Wizards. Per Adrian Wojnarowski's twitter. The 3-way trade talks with Wiz, NY and Houston haven't progressed today, source says. NY and Wash waiting to hear from HOU to advance ball. Newman
That's a terrible trade to the Knicks and the Wiz but all they care is cap-room I guess. If that trade succeeds, the Rockets are definitely a top 6 seed in the West, maybe even higher.
The Next Knick
I would love getting Caron Butler, but settling on T-mac? If we get Chase Budinger, I'll be happy though.
