DALLAS -- The ankle injury that has sidelined Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant for the last three games will knock him out of Sunday's All-Star Game as well.

The NBA has lined up Jason Kidd of the hometown Dallas Mavericks to replace the ailing Bryant, sources told ESPN.com.

ESPN.com has also learned Allen Iverson won't participate (personal matters) and will be replaced by New York's David Lee.

Shaq>Lee any day, expecially playoffs, but it's the Cavalier hater version of Allstar weekend.

On what planet?

And the last time Shaq was in the playoffs, he averaged 15 PPG, 9 RPG on just 44% FG while getting CRUSHED by Duncan, who averaged 20/15 while playing injured.

Seriously.

Kidd is suspect, Ellis should definitely be in over him, I guess hometown is an excuse to get another undeserved all-star into the game

If Monta Ellis is truly injured, I understand. I just realized he didn't play last night against the Clips, so maybe that really is the issue...and maybe he would've been inserted into the lineup had he played, but I doubt it.

There's nothing really special Ellis is doing besides compiling points on a bad team.

And how Josh Smith still isn't an All-Star is mind-boggling. He's the main reason they've taken the leap they have. Lee's become an excellent offensive player and rebounder, while being a horrible defender on a losing team. Smith's been excellent across the board and actually contributing to wins.

How is that possible when all anyone does these days is call him a soft [expletive]?

Yeah he is soft but that does not take away from him being a great player. Gasol gets him in just about everything except ppg, but then again Dirk has taken just about double the shots Pau has, so you really cant even compare that.
