The Browns have many picks, so losing these two was feasible. I really like Gocong and didn't know much about Brown, but he sounds like a good veteran. I like this move to improve our D. Hall wasn't doing much for us.

Sheldon Brown is a VERY solid cornerback. I'm sad to see him go, but it was inevitable. He wasn't part of our future plans.

 

What excites you about Gocong? He hasn't really shown much, and was benched towards the end of the season for a 7th round rookie.

Willie Parker signed 1 year deal with Redskins.

 

Now him, Larry Johnson, and Portis have to battle it out.

This would've been an awesome trio 3 years ago.

I signed Gocong on my Browns team on madden and liked him because he was good when I played him....haha I've never seen him play. I've seen him during games and recognize him.

Gocong could be a good player though, Eagles just used him wrong.

 

He was a pass rushing specialist in college and racked up sacks. But the Eagles, being the idiots they were, converted him to LB. I think he can be a solid addition if you guys use him right, move him back to his natural position, or maybe the 3-4 will be a better fit (I'm assuming that's what you guys run).

 

He was never a good fit in Philly. I blame Reid.

Finally Parker has landed somewhere, now the Steelers don't have to consider bringing him back, though he likely didn't want to.

Sheldon Brown was the eagles best player in that secondary. Huge hole to fill there. Hamlin was mediocre but better than anything else we got, hopefully we draft Mays or get someone else to replace him Alan Ball is iight but not what I want back there. As for Flo he was terrible in the Minnesota game, bout time Doug Free got a chance he did a solid job with Colombo out last year I think he can be better than Flozell.

Source: Williams, Bengals agree to deal

Cincinnati's veteran offensive guard Bobbie Williams reached an agreement Saturday to stay with the Bengals, according to a source close to the situation.

 

The move keeps one of the Bengals most consistent starters and team leaders on the roster. Williams, 33, has started every Bengals game for the past three seasons and missed just three starts in his six years with the team.

Either way you look at it, for now, Cleveland wins the trade. The Eagles had stockpiled picks as it is, this is overkill. You have to think they're going to move up for someone, especially Eric Berry if he falls past 8.

i may have to join you in that if it happens. i wasnt a fan of the aso trade before, but i am now. samuel and aso would be amazing, or if we traded up for berry. but i have a feeling none of this is gonna happen, because once again we are talking about the eagles here. they will probably just leave hobbs and hanson at cb, and let marlin jackson and some mid round picks fight for the other spots. lets hope this doesnt happen though

We used a 5th last year, if I remember correctly, to move up a couple of spots in the 1st round to nab Jeremy Maclin.

 

I think we're just stockpiling picks so we have more opportunities to move up and get the guys we want, hopefully...

 

We have so many holes now, it'll be interesting to see what management does to try to fill them. One thing is for sure, this will be the year I finally stop entering the season with high expectations, only to get my hopes crushed. I have no expectations now, wouldn't be surprised if we finish last in the NFC East.

Rams Release Marc Bulger

 

NFL.com - The Rams took the limbo out of Marc Bulger’s future in St. Louis, releasing the veteran quarterback on Monday.

 

The proverbial writing has been on the wall for Bulger, who showed up to offseason workouts with the Rams despite mounting chatter that his career in St. Louis could end if the team selects Sam Bradford first overall. With the expected addition of Bradford, A.J. Feely on the roster as a veteran stop-gap and the fact he was due $8.5 million next season, Bulger’s release isn’t a surprise.

Injuries and a horrible o-line. Plus he doesnt have a lot of receiving options outside Steven Jackson.

Sports Illustrated - Having traded Donovan McNabb, the Eagles could look to draft Tim Tebow in this month's NFL Draft to fill their third quarterback position.

 

"I have heard the Eagles will now focus on Tebow and are likely to join the parade of teams working him out and spending time with him," Peter King of Sports Illustrated wrote on Monday.

 

Philadelphia has seven picks in the first four rounds.

Redskins could still make a run at Brandon Marshall

In the wake of the move to acquire quarterback Donovan McNabb from the Eagles, immediate speculation regarding McNabb's arsenal of weapons centered on receiver Terrell Owens. But Chris Russell of 106.7 The Fan in D.C. reports that at least one high-level Redskins source is opposed to the notion of adding Owens.

 

If not Owens, how about Brandon Marshall? Though the McNabb trade removes the high second-round pick that the Redskins could have used to get Marshall, other options remain for getting the deal done, including a first-round pick in 2011, an offseason that likely will feature a deep free-agent class.

 

Jason Reid of the Washington Post believes that a move for Marshall remains possible. Of course, this would mean that last year's report that Redskins coach Mike Shanahan was at the end of his rope with Marshall in 2008, and that Shanahan would have cut or traded Marshall if Shanahan hadn't been fired, was incorrect. Then again, we never really believed that one.

Campbell to now stay away from Skins facility

 

Unsigned restricted free agent Jason Campbell will opt to stay away from the Redskins' practice facility for the foreseeable future.

He met with coach Mike Shanahan on Monday, and the sides decided that Campbell training elsewhere is good for both parties. It also likely means that Campbell, who's gotten permission to seek a trade, wants out of Washington following the Donovan McNabb trade. Shanahan is expected to provide more details on Campbell's situation at Tuesday's introductory presser for McNabb

Skins want to unload Haynesworth before draft

 

Updating a previous item, NFL.com's Jason LaCanfora reports league sources believe the Titans would be interested in bringing back Albert Haynesworth "at the right price."

The key to any Haynesworth deal is money. The Redskins just paid him a $21M bonus, and they'll want potential trade partners to kick back a good portion of that loot. Per LaCanfora, Haynesworth has a "strained relationship" with many teammates, and Mike Shanahan wants to deal him before the draft to improve the culture at Redskins Park. The Skins are also "strongly interested" in an Adam Carriker/Haynesworth swap.

lol that is what happens when you throw money at a player before thinking. I not sure if anyone is going to want that contract being as enormous as it is, but if a team does manage to get him that is going to be a good pick up because he is an impact player on the field.
