ChosenOne
Report: Big Ben suspension coming by Tuesday Ben Roethlisberger will be suspended by the NFL on Monday or Tuesday, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports. Even though Roethlisberger wasn't criminally charged by the Ocmulgee (Ga.) Circuit District Attorney, the detailed police report is apparently enough to land Big Ben on the sidelines. The length of the suspension is unknown at this point. It's believed that it will range from 2-4 games and Roethlisberger is not expected to fight the punishment. Yahoo! Flash
Good. He definitely should be suspended. Hell, Pac Man got suspended without even being charged with a crime.

Phightins
Three way trade -- Eagles get LB Ernie Sims, Lions get TE Tony Scheffler, Broncos get undisclosed draft pick.
Flash
I thought Ernie Sims would be a superstar coming out of FSU. Of course I was wrong. Why ever count on someone from that school

The Artesticle
5th round pick? Highway robbery at its finest!+1 loving the trade I hope Sims resurrects his career here in Philly. He's still very young and has the talent to do it. I'm guessing this shifts the focus away from LB now for the draft. We'll probably target OL, S, CB, and DL now. fly3rs18
I thought Ernie Sims would be a superstar coming out of FSU. Of course I was wrong. Why ever count on someone from that school he was on detroit, no one was good on the detroit defense. he averaged 120 tackles his first 3 seasons and missed a few games this past season. and he has been captain of the defense. i dont expect him to be a probowler or anything right away, but he is certainly a very talented player that the eagles stole for a 5th round pick
CaliCurbStomppa
Yea Ernie Sims still good just when you play for a bad team and u can barely win nobody gonna talk about the lions or you. I think with the Eagles he will be real good.
NomarFachix
Ernie Sims is a [expletive]ing beasttttttttttttttt I am thoroughly unhappy as a Giants fan.
His Greatness
Sims is an undersized athlete. I certainly think he's talented and has potential, but he didn't show much of anything in Detroit besides that he's fast and a solid hitter. Still a good trade for the value. Denver is going to have no receivers left by the end of next week.
Flash
I really interested to see if Miami trades down on draft day. I think a deal with Philly for 24 and a pick in a later round would be a great deal for both sides is the Eagles get Thomas and we could hope maybe Kindle drops a bit or we take Jerry Hughes who I am very high on as an OLB in our 3-4. NomarFachix
Ernie Sims is closer to utter garbage who'll be benched by week 8 than he is to being a beast? All you said negatively about him is that he is undersized. That didn't stop him from piling up 372 tackles in his first three seasons before being raped by injuries the past two years, along with a new scheme implemented by a new coach which didn't complement his skill set. If he's asked to play pure WILL and rush the passer, hit the HB in the mouth, and roam, he's going to be a stud in Philly.

That raw statistic is among the most misleading in football. How is he a beast? He's not big, gets swallowed up easily, misses tackles, overplays, and he's not especially good at pass rushing, coverage, or anything. Sims is a very flawed player. Maybe he needed a change of scenery, but he's far from being a beast, stud, or a good football player.

fish7718
Good or bad trade depending on what pick Eagles gave, considering all Lions wanted for compensation was Tony Schefler that would lead me to believe they aren't very high on Sims. NomarFachix
Good or bad trade depending on what pick Eagles gave, considering all Lions wanted for compensation was Tony Schefler that would lead me to believe they aren't very high on Sims. Lions needed Scheffler, he's a great mid-range pass catcher (Stafford needs all the weapons he can get) and it allows them to tell Pettigrew not to rush back from surgery. Sims also didn't fit Schwartz's scheme. 2+2=Trade
