Report: Steelers not ruling out Big Ben trade

The Steelers have fielded phone calls about Ben Roethlisberger and have not ruled out a trade, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gary Dulac.

This wouldn't be a straight dump like the Santonio Holmes trade. Though the Steelers are not "actively" shopping Big Ben, the Rooney family would give the green light on a trade if the right offer comes along. Until recently it seemed unlikely that Roethlisberger would be dealt, but the tide has turned against him in Pittsburgh. It would no longer surprise us to see Big Ben in another uniform.

That's like the 100th pick in previous years drafts, not bad, just have to see how Sims does I guess.

Yeah. I'd be lying if I were to say I am an Ernie Sims expert. Even if he does have as many question marks as people in here are saying, for that low of a pick I can't really complain...

Steelers also picked up Leftwich from the Bucs. He played well for the Steelers a couple years ago and is much more of a sure thing for the 4-6 games than Dixon, though I love Dennis.

Am I here? Big Ben is a two time superbowl champion quarterback, I don't like the guy for obvious reasons but is the organization really giving up on him? It seems crazy!

Pittsburgh has begun contacting teams to trade Ben Roethlisberger for a top 10 pick. At least one team considering it. Story far from done.

That's coming from Adam Schefter's twitter. Oakland and Cleveland shouldn't even have to think twice.

I still don't think they are trading him and its likely they are just testing the market for value. I doubt they really do even consider it. Probably one of those "What would you trade for Ben, a top ten pick?", other team "Unlikely".

Certainly not, getting a starter for 4th-5th round value is solid IMO.
