James wasn't happy that Knicks forward David Lee was named over Shaquille O'Neal as a replacement for East guard Allen Iverson. "It's an ongoing story about our franchise. We've always kind of been the butt of a joke -- before me being drafted and other guys coming along," LeBron said. He is the only Cavalier participating in All-Star Weekend. "Last year it took three injuries for Mo [Williams] to be an All-Star when we were the best team in the league also," James said. "So once again we're the best team in the league and Mo got no consideration. Shaq got no consideration. We also got three of the five top 3-pointers in the league [Williams, Daniel Gibson, Anthony Parker], and we have no shooters in the 3-point shooting contest (last) night. "That shows just how much respect we get. At the end of the day, we just earn it and just go out and play basketball." Source
Cleveland's Finest
Isn't it obvious when the Knicks get 3 players into All-Star weekend and the Cavs get one, that something might be messed up? Did I mention there are more Kings players than Cavs?
Poe
Cavs should have had one or two 3 point shooters, but that's it. Neither Mo nor Shaq deserve all star recognition.

Agree x100000 I don't think the team you play on should affect you getting into ASW, especially the competitions.

People would riot if Shaq made it, or even Mo Williams.

Cleveland's Finest
It didn't have to be the all-star game...it had to be all-star weekend as a whole that at least one more Cav got the opportunity to participate in. Hey Cavs, how about you win somethin first then youll get some respect. What's their record against the Lakers this year? How good is your "all-star" Pau in those games? He's afraid to shoot a jumper over Z.....that in a nutshell is how much an advantage we have over this soft team come NBA Finals if they can even make it now that we see how Artest doesn't impact them as much as we thought. Owner Real Deal Posted February 15, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted February 15, 2010 What's their record against the Lakers this year? How good is your "all-star" Pau in those games? He's afraid to shoot a jumper over Z.....that in a nutshell is how much an advantage we have over this soft team come NBA Finals if they can even make it now that we see how Artest doesn't impact them as much as we thought.Artest has been a boost for us, pushing the team to a #2 ranking, defensively...and, just for future reference, Gasol would wreck Ilgauskas in the Finals. If we get there? We'll walk into the Finals. I just have no idea who we'll face. Those 66 wins looked pretty good last season, but the first 12 wins in the playoffs is more important. LeBron says he wants respect (and his team). Maybe he should look in the mirror and ask himself, "Why should I deserve respect, being the leader of this team, when I have trouble giving it?" LeBron has disrespected the Orlando Magic, disrespected the Chicago Bulls (the Noah incident), disrespected the league with his "Check my $tats" shirt, and that's without touching on what Shaq has been doing/saying. O'Neal disrespected Howard just the other day. So, with all of that coming from their team captains...why would any of them expect anything different from the rest of the league? As you can see, the Cavaliers are becoming more hated at every turn. There are guys on OTR who didn't mind rooting for them in 2007 (myself included). I actually considered LeBron my second favorite player for years, and I can say that there were quite a few Lakers fans on TLN that did as well, rooting for him to crush the Spurs, and loving how he put Detroit to rest. Now? There are fans from other teams (teams that shouldn't care what Cleveland does) that don't like LeBron or Shaq, tons on RealGM and on a few other sites I've been on, and on OTR. You gain respect by giving it. Cleveland doesn't give it. Things like that will push other teams to try their hardest against them when it matters most, and to be honest, that's definitely not a good thing for the Cavs.
EastCoastNiner
Honestly, only one player on the Clevland Cavaliers deserved to be on the All-Star team, and he made it. I think that in itself speaks as to how good of a player he is. For comparison, during the seasons that the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl, they had a total of ten players make the pro-bowl, where as a good amount of teams that have done jack [expletive] in the playoffs have had many more players elected to the pro-bowl. Win something, and then you'll get respect.
Cleveland's Finest
Ok, but seriously, when 3 New York Knicks are participating in All-Star weekend as a whole and there is only one Cavalier, doesn't that seem a little bit out of wack? Just a little? Or are the Knicks really that talented? Edited February 15, 2010 by Cleveland's Finest

Just a little? Or are the Knicks really that talented? If you can realistically tell me who on the Cavs deserved to be in All-Star weekend then i might be inclined to believe you, but theres no one outside of LeBron. (and dont say Shaq or Mo Williams, cuz we all know they dont). I would have liked to see Moon in the dunk contest, but he already had a chance. The NBA doesnt give out 2nd chances right away, they give other people a chance to show what they can do. Sorry bud, just be happy you have the 2nd best player on the planet (ya kobes still #1). Just a little? Or are the Knicks really that talented? You want Boobie or Anthony Parker in 3-point contest? Meh. You want Moon in dunk contest? Done that. You want Mo or Shaq in ASG? Lol. Nate was only there cause he was the defending champ. Gallinari was there in 3-point contest probably cause he was in Sophmore game as well. Maybe the Cavs should just get some youth? Cleveland's Finest
I want AP, Mo, or Boobie in the 3 point contest. or JJ in the Sophomore team. or I wouldn't have said this, but after I found out Al Horford made the all-star team and that David Lee did....Honestly, Shaq is so much better than them any day.....ifhe wasn't on the Cavs where he doesn't need to do as much his numbers would be just like last years.... KurbyFX
Seems to me you'd like to just watch the Cavaliers entire roster participate in the ASG and just screw the league.
BasX
I've said this 20 million times and you don't seem to pay attention. AP has had better chances to complete in the 3-point contest and has ignored it for family reasons every time.

BlueDevil
^haha man LeBron was so selfish in that game imo everytime he ran down the court he was a black hole just took jump shots or barreled into the defense cuz he knew no one plays D in the ASG. so glad he didnt win MVP. Owner Real Deal Posted February 15, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted February 15, 2010 As far as the three-point contest go, they selected players that are typically heavy three-point shooters (attempts). Gallinari - 326Frye - 277Billups - 238Curry - 205Pierce - 174Cook - defending champion From the Cavs, only Mo Williams had more 3PT attempts than 2-3 of those guys, but he was injured and unable to participate. The Sophomore team for Hickson? Michael BeasleyEric GordonKevin LoveBrook LopezDanilo GallinariRussell WestbrookMarc GasolO.J. MayoAnthony Morrow Every player on that roster is better. Get over it.Boston fans have been ticked off that Perkins didn't make the All-Star team, and even more upset that Rondo didn't get to start in place of Iverson. I guess those Cleveland fans can say the same about Boston fans?
