Amare to Philly?

Real Deal

In particular, the Suns are still holding out hope that Philadelphia will come to the table and agree to a deal sending Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert to Phoenix. The Suns have sweetened their offer to the 76ers by including Leandro Barbosa in a package with Stoudemire. Also possible is a three-way trade that would send Hickson and Barbosa (along with Ilgauskas) to Philly, Stoudemire to Cleveland and Iguodala and Dalembert to Phoenix.

Expect the Suns to turn up the heat significantly on the Sixers on Monday.

The Sixers are pushing for it. Do they really think Amare will want to stay in Philly after the season is up, or is this a desperation move to get way below the cap?

It's for cap relief, and I categorically disapprove of it. No trade involving Iguodala should even be considered unless Brand is going with him.

And while it's likely that Stoudemire opts out, keep in mind that his player option is worth an upwards of $17 million. No one is going to give him that kind of dough, especially with the decreasing salary cap.

Interesting quote from the man himself..he'd actually want to stay?

Future Sixer?

Phoenix Suns center Amare Stoudemire has been in the middle of just about every trade rumor. The 6-10 forward, now in his eighth season and averaging 21.2 rebounds and 8.6 assists, is making $16,378,325 this season and has a player option of around $17.7 million next season.

He said that if there is a trade, he wants to go to a winner. When asked about the possibility of landing in Philadelphia, a team that obviously is not winning, Stoudemire said, "I'd make them a winner."

Amare can be the man in Philly though. He can put up as many shots and score all the points he wants, without playing defense. No big pressure to win either. Seems like a win scenario for him. Going to Cleveland means sharing the ball with Lebron/Shaq/Mo, with the added pressure of actually playing defense to win a championship. Amare seems like the lazy type, so I guess he'd prefer the Philly scenario.
