According to a source, Amar'e Stoudemire has let it be known that he does not want to play in Cleveland.

The news was passed along to the Cavs who are now going in another direction. Over the weekend, the Cavs and Suns appeared close to a trade that would send Stoudemire to Cleveland.

But the deal might not be completely dead yet. One key factor that could change Stoudemire's mind is if the Cavs make Stoudemire an offer to extend his contract. He is believed to be seeking $60 million over three years.

Note: Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer refutes the report and says that Stoudemire has made no such statement.

At the All-Star festivities in Dallas, Stoudemire cryptically said "Best of luck to [shaquille O'Neal] and the Cavs" in talking to reporters about the possible trade to Cleveland.

I have a feeling he said that he doesn't want to play with Shaq, not necessarily in Cleveland...and that's where those ideas came up that suggested the Cavaliers would think up another trade that deals Shaq for someone like Murphy or Jamison.

Good...I don't want this money-first guy....Put him with D-Wade where the media can hype them up and leave our team alone.

We have to get Jamison....he provides the instant offense we need and he will allow Shaq more room to roam around in the paint.

I'm happy stuff like this is circulating as I'd much rather Antawn or even Iggy than Amare.

Amare likes this because it gives him a chance at a title this season, then free agency. That doesn't mean he leaves Cleveland, but it means he cashes in right after winning a ring (if indeed the Cavs get that far).

Cleveland DID talk to Washington about Antawn Jamison on Monday, and they ignored the Pacers and Murphy, mainly because Troy has about five other teams hunting him down.

Things look to be getting interesting.

Why be the sidekick in Cleveland when he can be doing it in his home state close to his city?

Better chance at a title.

If the Heat trade Beasley for him then they'll have that much less talent. At least for the next few seasons.
