Owner Real Deal Posted February 16, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted February 16, 2010 @WojYahooNBA Cavs talks with Wash for Antawn Jamison have intensified today, sources say. Cleve needed to relent on some pieces for possible deal there.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 16, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted February 16, 2010 I wonder if this means the Amare deal fell through.
Cleveland's Finest
YES! It is destiny that we get Antawn.
JWaLL
I'll be a sad man if he goes to Cleveland, but I'm sure Antawn wouldn't be too upset about it.
AboveLegit
They're not getting Jamison, Wizards already stated they have no intentions of helping the Cavs win a title.
Cleveland's Finest
Honestly, this is the move that gives us the best chance at winning a title. All this talk of Amare coming to Cleveland will keep LeBron, but I'm willing to sacrifice LeBron leaving (though I think he's staying anyways) to win a title. Winning a title this year is all that matters, and Jamison will be awesome for us for 2-3 years I think. He's a better complimentary player and more clutch than Amare. I admire his heart more too. You are so right. Wiz might as well sell there team if this happens.

kingfish
They're not getting Jamison, Wizards already stated they have no intentions of helping the Cavs win a title.LMAO I been saying that same thing for months (even on this forum) and people thought I was wrong. What now.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 17, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted February 17, 2010 Three different reporters are saying otherwise, guys. Jamison to Cleveland is a real possibility. The Wizards could care less what happens in Cleveland, as long as they drop that three years, $40 million of Antawn's.

Honestly these kids think the Wizards are going to sour their own future just to spoil the Cavaliers. I think they are holding out for Hickson but will eventually fold, they can't pass on the chance to dump that contract off.
Sky
There were reports today that Cleveland softened their stance in terms of being more willing to make sacrifices. I think the Wiz will trade Tawn provided they get two things. Hickson and a net reduction of at least 2.6M in payroll to avoid taxes this year, which means the Cavs have to take Mike James. Owner Real Deal Posted February 17, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted February 17, 2010 Cleveland is still waiting for Phoenix to give a verdict on its offer of Ilgauskas, J.J. Hickson and a first-round pick for Amare Stoudemire. But the Cavs' interest in Jamison is real. Cleveland is very excited about Hickson's development and if the Cavs could obtain Jamison without giving up Hickson, they might consider taking that deal over the Stoudemire deal.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=TradeTalkRoundup-2010#cavs
Check my Stats
I can't believe they are so attached to Hickson, I don't see anything particularly special in the kid, I guess I should watch him more.
JWaLL
I can't believe they are so attached to Hickson, I don't see anything particularly special in the kid, I guess I should watch him more. He's nothing special. He's seen as one of those guys with "raw potential." I don't see him becoming more than a capable starter or first option power forward off the bench. Either way, I agree with you and I don't see why the Cavs are so hesitant to trade him away.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 17, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted February 17, 2010 Hickson isn't going anywhere in this deal. The Wizards will get Moon, Ilgauskas and a first-rounder.
AboveLegit
That's stupid, the Wiz better not do this. I rather wait till the off season and explore better options.

The Regime
The Cavaliers have acquired Antawn Jamison from the Wizards, according to the Washington Post. The deal is possibly a three-way with Drew Gooden being sent to a Western Conference team. The Wizards will receive Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a 1st round pick, according to the source Real GM
AboveLegit
Washington is retarded. I can't believe it. ....on the bright side, I now have a favorite Cavaliers player.
Check my Stats
Idk how I feel about this, I have never been a fan of Jamison at the 4 and I won't be just because he is a Cavalier. Hopefully this happened because the Suns turned it down and the Cavs weren't stupid to let Hickson prevent them from making a deal.
