Dash
The Golden State Warriors have reportedly rejected an offer for Monta Ellis from Memphis that would have included O.J. Mayo and salary cap filler, according to multiple sources. Link What the hell?
Check my Stats
Lol they definitely aren't dealing him for Allen then, if this is true. I would have taken that an ran.
Universe
No way. I can't honestly believe Mayo would be traded and the Warriors would turn that down.
Legacy
I would have done this trade.
SRV
Ahaha, why would they reject Mayo? Monta is a ballhog.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 18, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted February 18, 2010 That trade would've made perfect sense for Golden State. Mayo is a legit combo guard, more a two-guard. That allows Curry to play the point, and it solves the problems the Warriors are having right now (with Curry and Monta). As far as Memphis goes, I don't see why they offer this. La Bomba
Wow, I'm glad Golden State declined this offer. Rudy Gay is a ballhog as it is and adding Ellis would make it so much worse. I'm hoping this is somehow just a false report.
Warren2ThaG
Trade Monta to Portland for Bayless and Batum.
Dr. Feelgood
Uh no. As much as I love Monta, Batum isn't going anywhere at all.
Sun Tzu
Stupid move by the Warriors, who wouldn't do that trade?
Legacy
Trade Monta to Portland for Bayless and Batum.Hell no.
ChosenOne
I would have done the same thing, by keeping Monte.
GamerGuy
Memphis offered this? Why in the world did they offer that. Doesn't make sense to me on their end. Even more baffling is why Golden State rejected it. They should of taken this and ran.
La Bomba
Seems like the Grizzlies legitimately tried to deal Mayo over the past few days, but the Grizzlies asked for too much.
Legacy
It was Mayo, Hasheem Thabeet, and Hamed Haddadi for Monta Ellis. <_<
Built Ford Tough
It was Mayo, Hasheem Thabeet, and Hamed Haddadi for Monta Ellis. <_< Well now it is obvious why the Warriors declined this trade. They want nothing to do with Thabeet or Haddadi (you know, with them being above 7 feet and all). I bet if the Grizzlies would've offered Mayo, Williams and Hudson for Ellis the Warriors would've been all over that. Seriously though, if this is actually true the Warriors management is absolutely retarded for not making this trade without hesitation. Trading Ellis for Mayo straight up would be a good deal as far as I am concerned, nevermind getting two legit 7 footers with potential. If this is true, it is just another example of the ineptitude of the Warriors management. xx.
And Thabeet and they declined it? WOW
La Bomba
Wow, RealGM said GMs were saying that the Grizzlies were asking too much for Mayo. Why they want Ellis so badly is beyond me.
