how houston over dallas?

houston gave up landry and they got an inconsistent k-mart an injury prone k-mart.

The upside to Houston's trade is huge. Not only do they get a much needed scorer off the bench, but they also get good young big man that they can develop, plus two potential lottery picks.

Dallas got a good defensive center and a solid shooting guard with size that may be able to compliment this team well, though he seems to be in a bit of a slump.

Dallas made a very good trade, but I think Houston's two lottery picks make theirs slightly better.

Rockets - With ease, not even a hard call.

Cavs - Picked up Jamison that is a great talent and will fit in better with the team than Amare. I thing only and injury can stop them now from getting to the finals.

Dallas - Getting both Haywood and Butler makes this team just as good and if not better than the Nuggets. They would give both the Nuggets and Lakers a run not to the Finals.

The reason I put Cavs on top is because they gave up practically nothing (since Z is coming back) for an all star caliber PF, which could be the deciding factor for what may become a championship season. Houston had to give up a former superstar and their best player off the bench.

giving up the last pick in the first round for an AllStar makes Cleveland the winners, but when we look back at this in 5 yrs it could be Houston due to the lottery picks. Right now its Cleveland though.

Basing on what could happen, the Knicks could even be the winners. What if their "2010 or fail" risk turns out to be a great move after all? Considering all possibilities, they may wind up bringing two all-stars to the Knicks and turn a non-playoff team into contenders in just one summer, with a huge part of it being an effect of the T-Mac trade.

But as you said, right now, Cleveland easily wins.

Houston. They pick up a scorer, Hill who I think has potential as long as he is in the right system, and a couple first round picks. Complete rape.

...yet they gave up Landry and a healthy McGrady. Since T-Mac/Landry and Martin/Hill pretty much cancel each other out in terms of individual player value, the Rockets are left with two first rounders as the overall extra benefit.

All the Cavs really gave up was their 30th pick in the first round for Antawn Jamison. Complete rape.

Martin is a good long term solution, it gives the Rockets a reliable player on the offensive end. As far as Hill goes, I think he can be a beast paired with Yao. I'm not going to jump to conclusions on the Cavs trade for Jamison, the Cavs were fine without him.

Gonna go with two teams here.

Blazers for picking up Camby. Most of the other trades really do not matter as none of the trades are really necessary for the teams success.

Portland on the other hand really needed to pick up another big man, even a low level big man would have sufficed but instead they manage to get a great big man in Camby, this really helps them for the rest of the season and could be the difference between even making the play-offs and a WCFs appearance.

And.. Other...

Memphis, These guys did a fantastic job picking up Brewer with what could be a 15 pick or worse, lets not forget this team is only 3.5 games out of the POs. Brewer is a highly overlooked and underrated player. A 4th year 2/3 who is a great role player and provides some pretty good defense. With him on the team the Grizz could also try out a Mayo-Brewer-Gay guard line up since they seem to be getting little production out of Mr.Conley.
