I traded MLB '08 the Show to a friend for Kingdom Hearts 2. I still have to get started on BFBC2, and I haven't finished the story modes for Killzone 2 or Batman Arkham Asylum yet.

Day #5 of spring break. I'm glad that it's going to be capped off with Opening Day.

Blog #10

This is Simple. Deftones, one of the most influential bands I listened to growing up, may have made their best album. Consider how amazing White Pony is, this is awesome territory. Like you have to check out Rocket Skates, Diamond Eyes or Beauty School.

Sure, I'll take steroids for three years, but nine years down the road, I'll be just as amazing without them. And all the haters will be living in the past because they'll have nothing to say about the present. ;)

Where did you manage to find a job at?

My Grandpa is building a bathroom onto his house, so he's been paying me to do all the dirty work for him. I've been so busy lately, I don't think I would have the time for a full time job, so I think some odd jobs here and there will work out better for me. My parents offered to pay me if I cooked an Easter Sunday dinner for us and some extended family, so I'll do that. Not sure how much I'll get, but hey every bit helps.

I am so jealous that you're going to go to Poland. I have always wanted to go somewhere outside of the United States. I don't really care where though. How long are you going to be staying in Poland? Also, this may sound weird but how long is the flight over there?

Yeah, I've been pretty blessed to have the opportunity to go over there. I'll be over there for a little over two weeks (16 days), and I think the flight is 12-13 hours long. That ought to be fun.

Blog #11

Well I haven't had a long Blog for the last two weeks, but I think this will finally be a decent entry. As mentioned above, the new Deftones album is probably my favourite this year, followed by DEP. I checked out many others recently such as Gorrilaz, Army of the Pharaohs, Meth Ghost and Rae, Demon Hunter, Four Year Strong and From First to Last. Responses vary but it likely starts with Gorrilaz and finishes with Demon Hunter. Demon Hunter is so generic, but if you like simple Metal, check it out. I currently have 17 albums to check out. These are:

  1. Immanu El - They'll Come, They Come
  2. Jakob - Solace
  3. Laura - Radio Swan is Down
  4. Mooncake - Lagrange Points
  5. Toe - For Long Tomorrow
  6. Keelhaul - Keelhaul's Triumphant Return to Obscurity
  7. Sonic Youth - Murray Street
  8. The Constantines - The Constantines
  9. Kathleen Edwards - Asking for Flowers
  10. The Flaming Lips - Embryonic
  11. Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Fight
  12. Local Natives - Gorilla Manor
  13. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
  14. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig, Lazerus, Dig
  15. Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
  16. Rockets Red Glare - Rockets Red Glare
  17. St. Vincent - Actor

I can't wait to check all of these out. The Last 10 were recommendations from a friend of mine. Of course, you can recommend anything for me, because even if I don't end up liking it, it doesn't mean I won't know someone who won't.

I am also ready for Playoff mode. NBA and NHL start their playoffs very soon and now it is time for playoffs every night for the next 2 1/2 months. One of my favorite times of the year consider the final four is this Saturday and Monday and the Masters starts Thursday. I also got an extension on one of my papers from this Thursday to next Monday which is awesome, so pumped I have an inch of free time. Anyway, I'll end this one with a Video from the Basketball Jones if no one here has seen it yet, it is pretty sweet.

In this thread I'll post daily sport picks for the main sports of NBA, MLB, NFL, and maybe some college sports along the way. I'll try to post a reason or an analysis for each pick but may not have time for every pick.

Hopefully this goes well. :P

4/3/10

Toronto Raptors vs Philadelphia 76ers -5 (-105)

Reason for Pick:

Toronto (37-37) should have no problem keeping up with Philadelphia (26-49) this afternoon. Nearly 80% of the public is on the Raptors in this one. Why? Maybe it's the fact that Philadelphia is just 2-7 in their last nine games against the spread. Or maybe it's the simple fact that they're just 10-26 in their last 36 home games. That's a recipe for disaster regardless of the league you're playing in. Look for Toronto to walk away with a fairly lopsided victory in this one.
