EastCoastNiner
This. Nobody's gonna go straight from what would've been a Lakers game on ABC to a Senators game over on Versus The NHL makes nearly the same amount of revenue as the NBA, and their viewing has been increasing each and every season. Game one of the Stanley Cup Finals this year had better ratings than game one of the NBA Finals with Celtics and Lakers two years ago The NBA needs to get its act together. I never would have thought it was possible five years ago, but the NHL may very well surpass the NBA ins viewership and revenue in the near future. The Canucks’ 1-0 win produced the best overnight ratings for a Game 1 since 1999, generating a 3.2 rating and 6 percent share. This morning, the fast overnight Nielsen numbers highlight that storied rivalries still exist as Game 1 of the 2010 NBA Finals from the Staple Center pulled a 10.4 rating on ABC What a DOMINANT performance by the NHL!!!! btw if you are going to try and play "i meant 3 years ago", game 1 pulled in an 8.7http://yourentertainmentnow.com/2008/06/29/complete-ratings-for-the-2008-nba-finals/ Edited July 2, 2011 by Rainbow Dash
Universe
Not to get into the arguement but the only reason I became a basketball fan was because of the NHL lockout. Could be what they need to gain some popularity.

EastCoastNiner
Lmao, yes because a 1.1 BILLION dollar difference is "nearly the same amount". [expletive] outta here with your bullshit. I messed that one up. I should have said the difference isn't as massive as people think it is. The difference isn't nearly as big between the two sports as the difference between the NBA and MLB and the MLB and the NFL. It's actually embarrassing that the difference is not much larger between the NBA and the NHL. The NBA needs to get their act together. I want the NBA to succeed, but it's pretty odd that they aren't doing much better than they are compared to the NHL when you consider that the NBA has a large influence in China, the rest of Asia, and Africa, places the NHL does not. Get back to me and please tell me I'm wrong about the Boston market.

It isn't surprising seeing as the Bruins are a bigger deal than the Celtics in Boston. Just like it wouldn't be surprising if the Lakers outdrew the Kings for NBA Finals vs Stanley Cup finals in LA

Just like it wouldn't be surprising if the Lakers outdrew the Kings for NBA Finals vs Stanley Cup finals in LA That's fine, and it would have taken you all of half a second to realize that I'm not going to say something about the ratings and be off by 500%+. Anyways, I still don't understand how the NBA isn't much further ahead then the NHL. Yes, $1 bil is a big difference numerically, but percentage wise compared with the revenue of the other major sports, it's not that large of a difference. I think it should be much larger, especially with the market the NBA has.
trutrojan8
So I got a pretty sick piece earlier today... the guy gave me $15 off. Owner Real Deal Posted July 3, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted July 3, 2011 My exgirlfriend hit me three times tonight. total buzzkill.Ha, no kidding. I've had an ex slap me in the face, then punch me a couple of times in the chest before I caught her fist/wrist. I seriously wished she was a dude at that split second...she just tugged away and walked off like a bad ass, and her two annoying friends acted like she just conquered the world.

I seriously wished she was a dude at that split second...she just tugged away and walked off like a bad ass, and her two annoying friends acted like she just conquered the world.Yeah so she locked me in a room at like 10 30 then held me against a wall. Left, then came back with her friend at like 1, I got done pissing and open the bathroom door and her friend and her bum rush me in the bath room. she slaps me, then i go buck wild, telling her that we are [expletive]ing done, blah blah blah... theirs like 20 people at the house and they are all banging on the door but she wont open it. finally i told her to open the [expletive]ing door and she did then we get in the hallway and i get a 1-2 combo to the chest until my buddy gets her in a bear hug. [expletive]ing hate that slut. and i totally feel you on the wishing she was a man, because my adrenaline was rushing and i would have probably killed him.
