Suggestion: Team Subforums?

Just a suggestion, but it might not be a bad idea to add subforums to each team forum to have a small touch of organization.

- Like one subforum for team news, where each thread is strictly for quoted articles, and team captains will be in charge of keeping it updated every other day, or every week, or whatever Real Deal deems necessary.

- One subforum for general team discussion.

- And one subforum for player tracking where members can post the progress of their favorite player or players. Like how Shaliq has one in the Clippers section with Maggette, and Air Rondo started one for Rajon in the Celtics forum. Just an idea, it could be a nice add-on to expand player tracking into a whole subforum.

Again, just a thought. Only two or three subforums, no need to overload team forums with too many subforums considering this board doesn't have as extreme of an amount of members as a site like realgm, but it could be nice to have a little bit of extra organization.

Is there really a need for this though? Its not like any of the boards are overflowing with new threads that it is difficult to keep track of everything. I really don't see why this would be necessary to be honest with you.

If each forum was getting an absurd amount of new topics daily, sure it wouldn't be a bad idea, but when most forums get around 3 new topics each day it would be rather pointless if you ask me.

I started the star trackers back in 2005, but we eventually moved them out of subforums and placed them as pinned topics, then moved them into their own forum (just one, for all star trackers).

And we did have a news subforum for every single team, actually. I used them when the home page was being updated with RSS feeds for every team. The problem was, the forums were filled with duplicate topics, and nobody really knew what topics to reply to...which led to duplicate posts as well (replied in one, copy and pasted into another).

It sounded like a fabulous idea back then, turned out to be a nuisance. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to give it a second chance.
