I'd have to be more dedicated but I could probably make a couple bucks if it gets popular. I definitely watch enough movies. I'd do top 10 sports movies and action movies and top 10 lists like every week. I have a lot of ideas. The quality of my reviews would increase as well, to about 3 paragraphs. Do you guys think I have what it takes to make my own real blog? :o BTW I saw 4 movies in 7 days this past week. When their old coach dies, they are all brought together by his funeral, they then go to a summer home and spend the weekend together. This movie, despite being funny, was pretty bad. First of all 75% of the jokes in the movie are the Schneider, Sandler, James, Rock, and Spade just making crude jokes about each other and the others. Which gets old quickly, almost the point where at the end you can see them coming and it's just boring. Secondly, the funeral turns into a stage for all them to make fun of each, which seems inappropriate, but whatever I can deal with that. Thirdly after attending the funeral they all decide to go to a lake side cabin with their families, I don't get how that works. I mean at a funeral is the thought process really "oh as long as we are dragged out to this funeral we might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone and have a weekend at a summer cabin with out families." Fourth terrible part was the fact there is not plot, other than 5 guys not caring about their dead coach it turns into 5 guys maybe reliving a championship game, into Sandler trying to get his kids to be more outdoorsy, into Schneider's character just being an absolute mess. In conclusion the movie is an absolute mess with no plot and jokes that get old quickly. That being said it is still a pretty funny movie that I wouldn't mind seeing again in a couple years, still lot's of other comedies and movies out there this summer, see get him to the greek before this one. - 2.5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t80--iojYDQ The Last Airbender http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/12822.jpg Now The Last Airbender, or more like The Last Move M.Night Shyamalan should ever direct. Now I, like you, thought the trailers look pretty awesome. People with the ability to control elements warring with each other, sounds pretty awesome. The thing is, what you see in the trailers is the only good thing the movie offers. The battle scenes are absolutely sick, and very enjoyable. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS AWFUL. I am surprised I did not fall asleep. The movie starts out a bit slow, with some very dull boring talking scenes. Basically these two kids find the avatar, or the one guy who can control all 4 elements and keep peace among the element nations. He is the last airbender because the fire nation called all of the other ones. Basically in the movie the avatar is trying to stop the fire nation. Honestly I'm getting bored trying to remember the movie. The movie (besides the awesome action) is a bunch of men dancing around and some horrible, predictable, and boring talking scenes. I can't really describe to you how bad I thought it was, you will have to see it for yourself. Both movies or of the the sort of magic-fiction drama and I must says Sorcerer's Apperentice beats TLA, by a lot too. SA is a movie about a kid who is chosen to be the sorcerer to vanquish evil. He is the only one who can do it. Thus Nicholas Cage adopts him as his apprentice and teaches him sorcery. The movie is a fun adventure with a lot of fun action-type scenes, comedy as well. Not much I can say that hasn't already been said about this masterpiece. However if you've been living under a rock let me let you in on this movie. It stars the best actor in the business today, in my opinion, Leonardo DiCaprio, as a man who steals ideas in people dreams. However after something went wrong he turned into a man on the run and he has now been offered a job. With this job he could get his whole life back, however the job is not easy. The movie is truly incredible on how detailed they are in every aspect of the actual story, not only that but direction by Christopher Nolan is incredible, designing these dream worlds and different environments. I cannot speak for all his movies, as I have not seen them all, but this movie is definitely better than his batman series. The complexity of the movie really has you thinking the entire time as you are on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. Not all movies are without their flaws as this one drags on just a little and can lose a viewer if they answer a text a theater. Knight and Day is about a CIA agent who has apparently gone rouge and runs into a blonde who has no clue what's going on. The movie does an excellent job of combining comedy with action. Tom Cruise does have a big god mode in his character, but he's Tom fricking Cruise right? He can do anything! Either way, awesome fun action on a good movie with a lot of twist and turns. - 4 The Karate Kid http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/600/12663.jpg If you are expecting me to compare this to the other Karate Kid films stop reading now. I have not seen those films and I do not intend on seeing those films. Also, who else is better than Jackie Chan in the role of teacher. There is a fight scene early in the movie with Jackie Chan and a bunch of kids and you just know in your head that if this happened in real life, Jackie would probably do the same thing he is doing in the film because he's Jackie Chan. Anyways, this is about a kid who moves from Detroit to China, and after getting his [expletive] kicked, and a series of events, Chan eventually teaches him Kung Fu (not Karate -- Karate is actually Japense Kung Fu is Chinese). The movie does a good job moving the plot a long. Despite sketchy acting by some of the younger actors the movie has a nice entertaining flow to it with some awesome fight scenes. I must say it was a fun movie for me to watch. - 4 Predators http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/600/14739.jpg The movie starts off with a guy falling in the air trying to open up his parachute, it jumps you straight into the action. When he lands he teams up with a bunch of random killers and a doctor to try to survive. Pretty cool movie, the big knock I have against it is that there wasn't enough of the predators in it, you don't see em until the last half hour. Anyway the predators are awesome, I've always had a taste for the Aliens, Predators, AvP movies. It got the point where I had the movie without even actually seeing it. Well I decided to sneak into it tonight after Karate Kid, if it sucked like I thought then at least I wouldn't have to pay for it. I must say I was very wrong. The movie stars Angelina Jolie as a CIA operative who is accused of being a Russian spy, now I thought the movie was just going to be her on the run the whole movie and trying to guess if she was Russian or American the whole time but it's not. Instead it's action packed movie of you trying to figure out what the [expletive] is going on. When it's all said done 3 things remain 1: Angelina Jolie is [expletive]ing hot with blonde hair 2: Angelina Jolie is [expletive]ing hot with black hair 3: Salt is an excellent movie. Without the god moding of a woman (or a man, or a CIA operative) being able to jump from truck to truck and me wondering how she got the cop to step on the break so she could shift the car, this movie could have been a 5. - 4.5 Despicable Me*Nomination for Animated Feature of the Year* http://i.tmi.tc/images/p/19334.jpg Ah, Despicable Me. A movie about a super thief villain who is having trouble accepting the fact that he is done. So he hatches a plan to steal the moon, his only a problem is another new thief call Vortex. This movie goes from being an outrageous comedy to a heart warming story. The minions (little yellow guys) are by far the smartest thing the movie could have done as they are fun to watch and add so much to the movie. Anyway this movie is about a kid entering his first year of middle school and trying to be as popular as possible, however with his quirky friend, things don't go as planned. Could have seen where this movie was going but good acting from children is rare so that impressed me as well as a fresh spin on an old tale. Entertaining move to say the least. I feel I have been giving movies a .5 higher grade than they deserve lately (after looking over my 2009 ratings) I'm going to start being a lot more critical when rating films, this was just as good as Knight and Day and Karate Kid. - 3.5 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
