D'Antoni says that Gallinari has become too detached and must "turn his motor up." In the three games since New York landed Tracy McGrady, Gallinari has scored 6, 5 and 7 points and has taken no more than eight shots. D'Antoni's opinion on Gallinari doesn't sound all too different than his evaluation of Darko Milicic, who was traded one week ago to Minnesota. With a teammate that can score better than he can, though, he becomes just that: Darko. Gallinari is meant to be the main guy on a terrible team, and that's why he'll never be a star.
