The Regime
According to sources close to Phil Jackson, LeBron James has expressed interest in joining the Los Angeles Lakers. "LeBron wants to win. He's a smart guy, and Phil loves LeBron, absolutely LOVES him," according to the report. Obviously, there is way too much involved with a situation like this for one blurb, but if the report holds water then look for this to become a big storyline in the upcoming days. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/35634126/ns/sports-player_news/ Very very very ridiculous rumor imo, but I still want to think what you guys think. The Regime
IF (and this is a big IF) we got LeBron, you can pretty much lock up 5-6 championships with ease. Dynasty!!!

Owner Real Deal Posted March 1, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted March 1, 2010 Let's run through why this won't happen... 1) The Lakers don't have the cap room. 2) LeBron will not accept the MLE. 3) This is still Kobe's team. Now the reason why it could happen... 1) Cleveland would not want to let him walk, so they accept Bynum (to replace Shaq) and Odom in a sign-and-trade deal for LeBron. The Nets and Knicks don't have anything better to offer, and Miami would have to offer Wade (which means he doesn't get paired with him as a teammate). Slim, slim chance. If I were a betting man, my money would be on it not happening.
Check my Stats
I don't think LeBron would be able to be on a team where there was question whether or not he is the best player on the team or not. I think he wants to start his own legacy, not add onto someone else's (Kobe). Besides, he wants to win? The Cavaliers are first in the NBA right now and considered favourites to win the NBA championship, so I don't see how he can 'want' to win when he already is. It would be epic for so many reasons if he went to the Clippers though. Edited March 1, 2010 by travesy3
