That's awesome. So you don't have to play every single play on defense? How exactly does that work.

(I went to pick it up yesterday but Best Buy was somehow sold out. I settled for BF:2 instead)

Yeah basically it sims every plate appearence until there's action at your position, then you get to play.

I got called up to the majors around the trade deadline, and posted a 10-2 record with a 3.12 ERA and 100 K's. I won game 5 against the Yankees in the ALDS. So yeah, I'm doing pretty well. Only a 75 overall too. Fun game mode, they did a good job.

Is the playoff atmosphere different in anyway form the regular season? jw...I'm still torn on which game to get.

Is the pitching aspect similar to the regular game? Meaning you're not looking at it from a different angle or whatever?

Not really, just the ALDS, ALCS, WS logos on the fields. I had a pretty easy time winning my games, I did get into more pitching jams it felt like. Yeah, I just won the WS, swept the Giants.

Yeah, it's the same, no different angle. I wish they would have more "clutch moments" like you have when you first get called up.

Not to rain on the parade but this my player sounds really easy just like NBA 2k10. In NBA my player you can but up hall of fame numbers in your rookie season and only like a 55 overall, and your team will win the title regardless of how bad they are. Thats what it sounds like for MLB my player, although im sure its still fun. What I liked about MLB road to the show was that it was so challenging, especially if you use the hardest difficulty like me. The minors are tough to get out of and you have to be dialed in on every pitch or you will strike out. Eventually if you get good enough you can be a superstar. Last year in RTTS in my prime years I had seasons like .350 batting average, 50-60 home runs, 150-170 RBI, 130 runs scored, 50+ stolen bases. Those numbers arent exactly realistic, but some MLB legends have even topped seasons like that. And you dont win the title every year, its tough to win it and you need a great team just like in real life, I only won like 5 titles in a 20 year career.

So yeah, lets not be too quick to hail MLB 2k10 yet. Still it sounds fun and I might pick it up. But just wait til you get into your 2nd and 3rd seasons it will probably become reallllly easy.

NBA My Player was actually hard for me, and it seemed to take forever to get your player better.

really

Its pretty easy for most people, you just gotta iso and do a dribble move between your legs to a layup. And pick and rolls are easy assists. Some people on the 2k forums have posted screen shots of like 100 points in a game, and like quadruple doubles of like 50 points, 20 rebounds, 20 assists, 10 steals, 10 blocks.

You can actually change the difficulty in this one unlike NBA.

I had my pitcher in the minors for 5 years and he was an 80 and the 10th best player in the organization and 5th best pitcher, 2nd best relief pitcher behind k-rod but they wouldn't bring him up because he has a terrible career whip. retarded. I just started a new one with a first baseman, its tough to get hits.

I was used to holding the left stick up and a direction from 2k8. Don't do that, just let the left stick do nothing, and do a contact swing. I had a .180 BA trying to do the left stick method, then I let go of it and got it up to like .220 in the last month of the season. Just an FYI if that's what you're doing.

Nah I wasn't doing that, I always use the power swing though, I get lots of doubles and even had 2 triples in on month. I'm doing pretty good so far, haven't increased anything besides my eye, once my eye gets to about 75 75 I'll increase contact and power.

My contact vs L/R is 70/71 or something like that

Power vs L/R is like 64/64 or something like that

Eye vs L/R is like 52/58ish. I didn't improve my eye at all my first season, but it does prove useful the more I improve it.

New ratings after the first month into the season... a pretty good month IMO 22 games, .269 BA / 4 HR / 16 RBI / 7 walks

@ the minors right now I'm batting .310 BA / .330 OBP / .550 SLG / 12 hrs / 60 rbis

I'm planning to be a september call up all I gotta do is increase my contact vs righties 1 point and ill get called up I'm gonna do that on Aug 31. That way I can retain my rookie status for next year.
