Owner Real Deal Posted April 24, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted April 24, 2010 Oakland isn't doing too bad in the draft. They are picking a ton of beastly athletic players, though...can't be surprised. We need a QB, though. Pike is still there. We have to pick one up, unless we're going to trade for one (and I doubt it).
fly3rs18
oakland got campbell too. good trade for them
Phightins
Yeah I think Jason Campbell is a good QB. Kind of got a [expletive]ty deal in Washington. Hopefully Oakland will be a better fit for him.
Dash
Sheesh why is everyone passing up on Pike? Texans got one more shot at a developmental QB.
reno
EH god, im gonna keep my faith in gm Angelo, but seriously this picks make me a little confused/disappointed. 3rd round pick I was fine with major wright, we needed a safety specially a vocal/leader type, but i still felt their was better safety options available4th round pick- defensive end, really? 5th round pick- cb josh moore, great another undersized corner back, nice joke hes basically moore 2.0 *we have an undersized cb named moore we drafted 1-2 seasons ago*6th round pick- draft qb dan lefevour, while decent just seems like we are throwing picks away. That said, I know almost nothing about draft prospects, and can only have faith in the bears management.
BasX
So essentially the Steelers traded Holmes for McFadden. McFadden worked well in Pittsburgh two years ago so I'm happy he is back.

Al was able to curb his appetite for athletic freaks until day three First two picks were GREAT for them. The Jason Campbell trade for a 2011 4th was genius. He's 5x the QB of any on their roster. The Artesticle
We've taken Graham, TO2, and Ricky Sapp. Traded for Tapp in the offseason. All four guys are young with good potential. I think defensive end position is set for years to come. lol I'm not amazed with the draft so far, but I like it. I still wish we would've picked a CB earlier though, I have no idea what type of player Lindley is.
xx.
Al Davis...... really? Surprised the [expletive] out of me. Raiders overall IMO have had the best draft so far with the Seahawks very closely behind.

CaliCurbStomppa
Wow Oregon Ducks RB Blount hasnt been drafted yet lol. I can understand why because of the incident last year
The Artesticle
Reid went a full draft, 12 picks, without selecting an offensive lineman. Wow Andy, I am shocked. Edited April 24, 2010 by Artesticle
Flash
Has anybody fallen off worse in a 2 year span worse than Jevan Snead? He was a projected top 10 pick this time a year ago. I like what the Pack did. Bulaga has tremendous value at 23 and fills a huge need. Morgan Burnett can play safety or corner so that was another very good pick for us. Miami did ok. I'm still iffy on the Odrick pick as I thought we should've gone with Jerry Hughes. I like Koa Misi and his non-stop motor. The LB spree was a bit overdone though. Reshad Jones where we got him is a steal and a half.

Flash
I'm hearing so many haters in the area (WFAN) over the Giants draft... I personally love it so far. I think Dillard and Petrus were steals in 4 and 5. You'll see why when Pierre Paul is run out of town. I know he's a specimen but he can't play the run at all. Teams are going to run to his side all day. He played in a weak conference for one year after playing JUCO too. I just don't see it with him. Also, are you guys looking to get rid of KP? I know he got injured last season but he's a damn good player.

I know he got injured last season but he's a damn good player. Pierre-Paul won't be run out of town, lol, we understand that he's a project. He has the highest ceiling of any pure pass rusher in the draft, we won't ask him to play the run. In his first few years, he'll come in as an edge rusher on passing downs, or we'll think of some creative hybrid 3-4 OLB packages for him to come in on. We'll have patience with him and we'll afford to do so, with Kiwi/Osi/Tuck already manning a 3 man DE rotation and Tollefson is capable as well. Phillips is the man when healthy, we just aren't sure when/if he'll be 100%. That surgery he had is a tough one, so we don't want to try to rush him back. He's basically a huge question mark right now, and we don't want to end up like we did last year playing guys like CC Brown and Aaron Rouse. We have Phillips, Rolle, Deon Grant and Chad Jones now, hopefully Michael Johnson will be cut. Four competent safeties (three healthy) makes me feel comfortable. I know he got injured last season but he's a damn good player. You're completely missing the point of JPP. He's a work in progress, he's extremely raw but holds the best pass rushing qualities of any pass rusher in this draft. Bar none. He's only played one year of football at a high level, and he did play it at a high level. He had a hell of a game against your Miami Hurricanes, and he dominated Syracuse as well. He's had these good games, some others and some bad (WVU). Of course he's not going to play the run well at all right now, because he hasn't barely been taught how to do so. He hasn't learned technique yet, nor has he learned proper hand placement, but you can already see that it comes on instinct in his tape. The Giants got the best end in the draft, and I don't have any problem saying it. The draft isn't about finding players that are going to bring the biggest impact to your team in the first year, it's all about potential. Some picks are going to take a bit, some are going to come, produce for your team and become great players. I have no qualms that the way I know the G-Men will bring JPP along is going to make him a pro bowler. Scheme wise, New York loves their rotation of ends who can produce in more then one situation. Kiwi could be on the way out and they would still have a nice rotation. Their pass rush was anemic last year, it was non-existant. It opens the door for Osi to play better, light a fire under his [expletive]. Two years from now, JPP is a monster, 10 sack player and in about four years a routine pro bowler. He's Mario Manningham dumb, but he's going to be able to sit, understand football and become a monster. The Giants have a track record of quality defensive linemen and it WILL continue. Bruce Campbell is VERY RAW but can turn into a good OL down the road. Don't expect too much right off the bat. You need to take this point of view with JPP if you're going to do it with Campbell, because Bruce is a lot worse then JPP was at the college level. Flash
nd he dominated Syracuse as well C'mon man. You can't take that as a legitimate performance. Maybe the 7 tackle, one sack game against Miami was good, but Syracuse? They've been a CFN laughingstock for years now. If you consider him the best DE that's fine. I just don't see it with him. I think it was a bit of a reach but to each his own. Neither one of the top ends (JPP & Morgan) in this draft really impressed me all too much to begin with. He was aight as a backup the first year or two with the Giants too... Then he was forced actual playing time last year and looked like a lost [expletive] puppy out there. Embarrassing. My friend who is a die-hard raider fan told me but im sure it just a rumor now so we have wait and see in a few days.
