Source: Odom, Lakers agree on deal

Lamar Odom will return to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to an NBA source.

Odom will sign a four-year contract, with the fourth year at the Lakers' option.

One source with knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com the four-year deal is worth $33 million if the Lakers exercise the final year of the contract.

Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak declined comment. Odom's agent, Jeff Schwartz, did not return a message immediately.

I have mixed emotions about this. I hate the Lakers to death, so I don't want them resigning Odom and getting stronger, but on the other hand I'm glad he didn't go to Miami, which means the Wizards have a fighting chance at getting the fourth/fifth seed in the East.

Brandon, you think Elonu will make the roster?

I've also heard Sun Yue may get cut soon, as his contract is not guaranteed. He sucks.

Yes, he should. He's a decent player.

And I think Sun Yue may be pushed out of the way for Ben McCauley.

Finally.

C - Bynum/Elonu/Mbenga

PF - Gasol/Odom/Powell

SF - Artest/Walton/Morrison

SG - Kobe/Brown/Vujacic

PG - Fisher/Farmar/Yue

We're good to go.

I doubt Elonu surpasses Mbenga...and how is Shannon Brown a shooting guard? He did play it once but he succeeded at PG all last year and his height at that position won't help.

I have a feeling that Elonu plays more minutes than Mbenga near the end of the season, but who knows. Phil doesn't play rookies as much, even if they show they are even the slightest big better than their teammate.

And Brown has played the two in Lakerland. Seeing how Vujacic completely sucks now, I wouldn't be surprised to see him play more of it.

But, in any case, I also wouldn't be surprised to see Vujacic contribute more than Farmar this season, and Shannon gets the nod over Jordan quite a bit.

Brandon, what do you see in Elonu? I thought he was just training camp material. He was the 59th pick of the draft, and I haven't heard much of him in summer league.

If he just works hard, he can be a pretty decent backup center in the NBA. Ford thinks he would've been a lottery pick next year if he would've stayed in college. Seeing the guy play at A&M, it really makes me wonder if Ford could be right.

But if he doesn't work hard, he'll be a complete waste.
